LOCALIP · SERVICE STATUS
Disruptions & temporary service
Localip has no verified disruption record for this line
This is not a “normal service” indicator. Check the operator’s official service status before departure.
THIS LINE · THREE DECISIONS
Plan Tokaido Shinkansen around tickets, reservations and the arrival district.
Put together what you buy, when a seat decision matters and the part of the city reached after arrival. This is more useful than comparing speed alone—and harder to confuse with a similarly named route.
Reservation decision
Keep service name, date, departure, exact station, car and seat as one booking record. Confirm the current reserved or non-reserved condition for the product you buy.
Arrival district
Tokyo and Shinagawa are different Tokyo hubs; Shin-Yokohama differs from Yokohama Station; Shin-Osaka differs from central Osaka. The exact Shinkansen station name is part of the destination.

Before you move
- The operator is JR Central. Match the company name on signs and gates.
- Check destination, service type and stops, not only the line colour.
- Before paying, use the ticket, reservation and arrival-district cards above as one decision.
- Finish by checking supplements, reserved-seat conditions, through-running and today’s service in the official guide.
THIS LINE · A WORKING FINGERPRINT
Identify Tokaido Shinkansen by company, anchors and destination.
This guide places Tokaido Shinkansen in the JR Central network. The working anchors are Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, Shin-Yokohama Station, Shin-Osaka Station, Kyoto Station and Nagoya Station; they are not a complete stop list. If a similar colour or station name appears under another company, restart the check as a different route.
04 · READ THIS KIND OF LINE
Match station, service and seat before thinking about speed.
On the Shinkansen, a city name and its high-speed station name may differ, and service types do not share every stop. Before entering the gate, treat operator, exact station, train name, departure time, seat and required tickets as one booking to be matched.
- Do I have the exact departure and arrival station names?
- Does my booked service stop at the destination?
- Have I checked the transfer gate and all required tickets?
