Accessibility
Making practical help easier to use
Local Japan aims to consider WCAG 2.1 Level AA and JIS X 8341-3:2016. We have not yet completed a formal conformance test.
What we currently do
- Use semantic headings, landmarks and a skip link.
- Support keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
- Respect reduced-motion settings.
- Provide text for status changes, controls and content that is not conveyed by colour alone.
- Publish language-specific URLs and identify each page language in its metadata.
Known issues
- Screen-reader and voice-control testing is not yet complete across all devices.
- Some third-party official pages may have different accessibility support.
- Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese currently have a smaller library; not every English or Japanese article has a translated equivalent.
