Learning without asking for your story
Local Japan uses limited, aggregated behaviour data to find unclear routes, unread guidance and interactions that fail. We do not need your name, account or precise location to do that.
What we measure
Google Analytics 4 records page views and named product events such as opening an official source or using a catalogue filter. Microsoft Clarity records behavioural metrics, heatmaps and per-page session playback so we can see where the interface causes hesitation or missed actions.
When Local Japan sends a named product event to Google Analytics, the same generic event name may be added to Clarity. The event name describes the interface action, not the answer, text or personal circumstance behind it.
Clarity privacy boundaries
- Clarity project: Local Japan, project ID
y9nfvjze23. - Local Japan sends denied analytics and advertising storage signals through Clarity Consent V2 by default. Clarity therefore runs without first- or third-party Clarity cookies and cannot join visits into a continuous journey.
- Input fields and drop-down selections are masked by Clarity. Masked content is not uploaded.
- We do not use Clarity’s Identify API, custom user IDs or account identifiers.
What we deliberately do not send
Local Japan does not send precise location, free-text correction details, reply email addresses, Japan Now answers, catalogue filter values or food-preference answers to Google Analytics or Clarity custom events. Some forms submit information only when you deliberately send them; their fields remain masked in Clarity.
Your controls and further information
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, Local Japan does not start Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity. Official sites opened from Local Japan have their own privacy practices.
