Sold since 1921, Orio’s kashiwameshi grew at a junction serving industrial and coalfield routes. In Kyushu, kashiwa commonly means chicken. The lid opens to a disciplined pattern, but the comfort is domestic: chicken broth in rice, sweet mince, egg and nori.
