Disruptions & temporary service

Localip has no verified disruption record for this line

This is not a “normal service” indicator. Check the operator’s official service status before departure.

DIRECT ANSWER · READ FIRST

When this route fits—and its first trap.

Tokyo Monorail connects three separate Haneda terminal stations with Monorail Hamamatsucho. Choose it when Hamamatsucho and the onward JR journey fit the final address. Haneda Express, Rapid and Local have different stopping patterns; read the live departure display. At Hamamatsucho, the JR connection crosses a separate gate, so keep the onward line, direction and destination exit ready.

01 · ROUTE FINGERPRINT

Four clues that separate this route from the others.

01

Three terminal stations

T3, T1 and T2 each have a separate monorail station. Their order matters on the airport branch.

02

One city terminus

Monorail Hamamatsucho is the city terminus. Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ueno require an onward journey.

03

Three service displays

Haneda Express, Rapid and Local do not share every stop. Use the current timetable when an intermediate station matters.

04

Ordinary-fare journey

The airport ride is planned by terminal, service and departure rather than reserved seating. An IC card does not choose the JR direction at Hamamatsucho.

DIRECTION · NOT A TRACK MAP

From the airport to the useful city-side anchors.

An orientation diagram, not a complete stop list or live service map.

  1. Tokyo Station / Ueno
  2. Shibuya / Shinjuku
  3. Tennozu Isle / waterfront

02 · TRAIN PRODUCTS

Treat similar-looking trains as different products.

Keep name, stopping pattern, seating and required ticket together.

Haneda Express / Rapid

Useful when the current stopping pattern matches your station. “Rapid” is not permission to ignore the terminal or destination display.

Local

Stops at every station and can serve places skipped by faster patterns. It may be the correct train for Tennozu Isle or another intermediate station; check today’s display.

03 · AFTER THE AIRPORT TRAIN

Choose all the way from the arrival station to the door.

01

Tokyo Station / Ueno

At Hamamatsucho, confirm the JR direction before crossing the gate. The monorail ticket decision and the JR platform decision are separate.

02

Shibuya / Shinjuku

The useful JR direction differs from the Tokyo/Ueno side. Keep the hotel station and exit open; “central Tokyo” is too broad.

03

Tennozu Isle / waterfront

An intermediate monorail stop may avoid returning from central Tokyo. Confirm the service stops there and whether the final address needs the Rinkai Line or a walk.

04 · FIVE CHECKS BEFORE THE GATE

Check in this order before paying.

  1. Confirm the airline terminal from today’s flight.
  2. Match T1, T2 or T3 to the exact monorail station.
  3. Choose Haneda Express, Rapid or Local from current stops—not speed alone.
  4. Before Hamamatsucho, open the onward JR line and direction.
  5. At the separate JR gate, recheck the destination exit and accessibility chain.
LUGGAGE

Plan luggage beyond the train carriage.

The monorail is an airport railway but still has shared passenger space. Keep bags stable and doors clear. Operator rules limit carry-on size, weight and item count, so check the current baggage page for unusually large items. The easiest train segment may still lead to a difficult JR transfer or final staircase.

ACCESS

Verify every handover in a step-free route.

T3 was designed with arrival- and departure-level connections, but the complete route continues beyond the station. Confirm the lift from the arrival lobby, boarding assistance if needed, the Hamamatsucho transfer and the destination exit. Ask which operator owns each handover.

05 · IF THE PLAN BREAKS

Open only the recovery situation you need.

Do not rush through another gate. Rebuild a smaller route from a staffed public point.

01A flight delay breaks the planned train

Complete immigration and baggage collection first. From the public side, recheck the ticket’s change or refund conditions and the next useful departure.

02The departure board does not match the screenshot

Treat the live station display and operator alert as current. Confirm the service name, destination and platform with station staff before crossing a new gate.

03A lift or step-free path is unavailable

Ask staff for the current step-free alternative before boarding. Confirm every transfer and the destination exit, not only the airport station.

04The last useful connection has ended

Remain at a staffed public point and compare an official taxi or bus, a confirmed nearby stay and the next rail service. Do not accept an unverified ride.

06 · QUESTIONS BEFORE BOARDING

Questions travellers ask about this route.

Does Tokyo Monorail go to Tokyo Station?

No. Its city terminus is Monorail Hamamatsucho. Continue through a separate gate to JR or another local route for Tokyo Station.

Are Haneda T1, T2 and T3 one monorail station?

No. Each terminal has a separately named station. Confirm the airline terminal before choosing where to leave the train.

What is the difference between Haneda Express, Rapid and Local?

They use different stopping patterns. The current timetable and departure display are the authority; choose Local when an intermediate station is skipped by a faster service.

Can I use Suica?

Tokyo Monorail provides Suica guidance and accepts compatible IC travel for ordinary journeys. Check the current operator conditions and ensure the onward operator is also covered.
