A COMPLETE FIRST EXPERIENCE

A complete first visit, from the door to the last plate

Picture a busy branch at 18:30. The entrance screen may ask for group size and counter or table seating; the number it prints is a queue number, not a table. Watch the display and listen for the number, then confirm the assigned seat before moving through a narrow aisle. If the interface is unclear, showing the group size is more useful than asking a broad question about “how the restaurant works.”

At the seat, separate circulating food from a dedicated order lane. A screen order may arrive with a sound or seat number; take only the item marked for you. Plate colour can indicate price, while side dishes, drinks and premium pieces may use different pricing. Check the basket before confirming, especially when a picture shows multiple pieces or when a supplement is listed in small text.

Build the meal in small rounds. Start with one or two mild or cooked pieces, taste the shop’s rice and seasoning, then add richer fish, rolls or a warm dish. Ginger refreshes the palate and is not normally a topping for every piece. Hot-water taps can cause burns, and a plate-return slot is not a rubbish bin. When finished, follow the branch’s checkout screen or call button; do not assume carrying a bill to the door is always the process.

FIVE CALM STEPS

From entry to checkout

  1. 01

Join the queue or take a number. Group size and counter/table choice may be entered on a screen.

  2. 02

At your seat, check plate colours and prices before ordering. Some dishes arrive on a dedicated upper lane.

  3. 03

Take only your order or a clearly available circulating plate. Never return a plate to the belt.

  4. 04

Use soy, ginger and wasabi in small amounts. Green tea powder and hot-water taps are usually self-service; beware of hot water.

  5. 05

Keep plates unless the shop uses a marked return slot. Use the checkout screen or call staff before leaving the seat.
